The BAP1/CCP18 FISH Probe Kit is designed to detect the human BAP1 gene located on chromosome band 3p21.1, along with the number of chromosome 18 copies per cell. Abnormal expression or rearrangements of the BAP1 gene – also known as UCHL2, hucep-6 or HUCEP-13 - has been observed in various cancer types as well as some heritable and neurological conditions.

The probe is labeled with CytoOrange and CytoGreen. CytoOrange is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 551 nm and emission peak at 575 nm, giving it an orange fluorescent signal with an appropriate filter; CytoGreen has an excitation peak at 495 nm and emission peak at 518 nm, giving it an green fluorescent signal with an appropriate filter.
